THE INSPIRATION

The old bottles in this verse are wineskins, and the problem is chemistry rather than sentiment. New wine is still working. A skin that has already stretched once and hardened has no give left in it, so the fermentation splits it and both the skin and the wine are lost. Jesus is answering a question about why his disciples do not fast like everyone else. The old container was not bad. It was finished. Some things God does will not fit inside the shape you were using before.
